Ah, Southern California: the land of clear blue skies, Disneyland, sunny days, warm weather, fresh vegetables and fruit, smiling faces, no blinkers, diverse food options, and the mountains, ocean, desert, and big city all within an hour or two from wherever you are.
After some prompting from my friend, Cyndi, I decided to take a few days off from Portland’s cold and damp weather, and fly down to see her and spend some time in the sun, where the air is dry, and the days are warm. Nothing like being around some friends, petting a few dogs and cats, eating great food, sitting in the brilliant air with bare feet and short pants to help facilitate this mission I’m on to get well and healthy.

I flew in last Saturday night, on a plane with only one-third of the seats filled up, and Cyndi picked me up at Ontario Airport. Looks like California is putting on the bright and sunny weather! I think it’s just for me, but it was probably going to be this way whether I came visiting or not 😀

Cyndi and Jane live in a nice pleasant Southern California neighborhood, with nice wide sidewalks, nicely kept landscaping, and nice quiet peacefulness. The wind whistles through the palm trees, the sun shines on the swimming pool, the neighbor lady walks her little orange dog down the street, and the flowers and trees bloom right on schedule. It’s a great place to spend a lifetime – or a few days. It’s nice here.

We watched the Super Bowl yesterday; I’m not a big sports fan – I think it’s only the third time I’ve ever watched this game. Thanks to Cyndi and her sister, Sandy, we had food, food, and more food, and of course, instead of taking photos of it, I ate it. Stuffed I was by the time the game ended. (Thank you, everybody who helped make this day a party! It was fun! Can we do it again some time?)

So. Cal. can also be the land of smog-blurred mountains, inconsiderate drivers, high rents, and a very crowded Disneyland, but taking the “good” with the “bad,” I’m very happy to be here, to have the chance to continue on my healing mission in a warm, positive environment, to spend time with friends and their pets, to just be. It’s a good thing to just be on occasion and I’m grateful to Cyndi and her family because I get to just be with them. You guys rock ♡
This is the best…I’m happy for you, a time away to refresh and heal…body, mind and soul.
It’s a good thing!
Enjoy!
♡
Hi, Debbie! I’m so happy to be here… I’m actually surprised at how happy I am. I’m sure it’s the combination of all things but I’m really happy to be here. Thank you for the good wishes. I know it’ll be a great addition to my time of healing, because you know, there’s nothing like good friends, good food, good weather, good everything to make one grateful for whatever the day brings. I’m happy.
I know you guys are getting some awesome weather up there and I love seeing your videos of the coast! Thank you for sharing them 😀
Happy to hear you are Happy! It is sunny here finally, but at this time only 54 degrees, but supposed to get to 59. Not quite the same as So. California!
Enjoy your time!!
It’s so nice to be here, Lorna. I’m lovin’ the sun and dry air; it’s just what I need 😀
We are very happy to have you here with us! You are the most comfortable person to be around! You bring a lot of laughter to our home and you are so easy to hang with. Not to mention that you saved the day today with giving Kate and Nalie a ride to their perspective schools, as I took Robin for a medical procedure in Long Beach. However, I did forget to mention to everyone that Nalie had today off for Lincoln’s B-day. Oh well! I’m sure it was a great morning adventure for all of you. All of us, are so happy that you were able to take time off to come down and spend some time with us. You are always welcomed and how about those Bronco’s last night!! I know you just couldn’t wait until game time!!LOL.
I love you guys, Cyndi! I feel so welcomed in your home and that means a lot to me. Thank you for everything you are and do… seriously, you guys rock ♡
Glad to see you are having fun in the Sun! If you get a chance drop a dime and call
I will, Bruce! I told your wife I’d call her on Saturday but the day flew by and I neglected to follow through. I still intend to do so! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a message!
