I love a good macchiato. I track them incessantly. I search for them everywhere. They are hard to find. Oh sure, there are lots of imitators and charlatans and barely disguised lattes masquerading as miniature macchiatos. But a true delicious, melt-in-the-mouth, tasty dark brown, roll-around-in-your-mouth macchiato is as rare as a snipe on a moonless night.
Some macchiatos have clever little designs in the foam and others are more like a find-the-shape-in-the-clouds.
But when all is said and done, a real macchiato is just the most amazing taste sensation ever for anyone who enjoys the flavor of perfectly roasted coffee combined with thick, creamy steamed milk. Enjoy!
