My first real road trip without my traveling buddy, Dinah Dog, was three days in Silver Falls State Park, Oregon.  Dinah and I camped out here last year, along with Mark and Nick and their dog, Isabelle Pug.  Going back to the same park seemed like a good way to continue moving forward – I could reminisce about the awesome time we had last year and make some new memories in an “old” place at the same time.  Dogs are not allowed on the canyon trails at Silver Falls so Dinah and Isabelle didn’t go along on any hikes last year – but this time, since I have her ashes in a beautiful flowered box, Dinah went everywhere with me.

The colors of the leaves are absolutely amazing, the waterfalls are misty and beautiful, the trails are wet but not muddy with evening/nighttime moisture, the campground is almost vacant, the showers are hot.  Fall is a great time to visit Silver Falls State Park, either for a day hike, or to camp in your tent or RV, or to rent a cabin – it’s all good!  See you on the trail!
