One of my all-time favorite desert blooms is the ocotillo. Tall and reaching for the sky, the dead-looking branches fill up with little bright green leaves, and the tips sprout these gorgeous brilliant red flowers that stand out against the clear blue desert sky in a way that no other blooming desert plant does.
Enjoy the pics – I hope that you get a chance to see them in person someday… the photos don’t really do them justice. All pics are taken with my iPhone 5 and are unaltered.
The Ocotillos are Blooming ~ and They’re Gorgeous!
Those are so lovely! Thank you soooo much for sharing! I’m hunkered down in the city, so thank you for sharing desert nature with me.
You’re welcome, Blaize! Ocotillos are so pretty against the blue sky 🙂
